Before the weekend description, let me just say that the weather is awesome! Its 80 today and perfect, minus the wind. It makes me want to go to Home Depot and pick out some new spring house project. Yes, I thought that was a weird association to Spring also. I hope this continues and that it doesn't get too hot too fast....
Before the Party
Since both sets of grandparents were in town we did it! Yes, we bought a Sleep Number bed complete with all the fun new accessories. I can't wait to try out my new pillow, but the guy at the store said the experience is better if you do it all at once. We got a 7000 and I can't wait for the first night of sleeping on a 35! Did you know 35 is the most popular sleep number? Who would have ever thought I'd be so excited about a bed!!! I'll keep you posted.
The Big "3"
So the birthday party was CRAZY! Since we have the luxury of never having to visit Chuck E. Cheese on the weekend, we never have been there on a Saturday. First off, there was no parking except in the back extended lot at 3:45pm and when you went inside I have never seen so many kids in my life. Logan didn't even want to get down the entire time we were there, but Dylan was not intimidated and had a blast.
We got to play games (we, being Dylan and Grandmommy) for 30 minutes and then it was pizza time. We had a sweet b.day table as we had all the booths next to us so it wasn't crowded. I guess that is the table you get when you have 12 kids and like 20 adults.
After pizza came the "Live" Show with Chuck E. Cheese. Dylan was right up there with him dancing. He swings his arms back and forth and twists at the hips. I wish I had a video of it. Its hilarious. I don't know where the other 4 birthday party people were, but the 3 year old boys were surrounding a less than energetic Chuck E. (not that they noticed). Dylan loved it when they sang, "I say Happy, you say Birthday. Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!" I'm pretty positive he thought it was totally for him and that the other birthday kids just got to hang out at his party.
After that was cake and then it was over...Fast! They keep you programmed that is for sure. Most people stayed afterwards to play some more games, but, wow, it was a little crazy for me. Its never as fun to be the coordinator as it is to be an attendee!
What I am Eating at this Moment
So during my high school years, my former best friend, Kyndall, and I had a special treat we would make constantly. I've been craving it lately since I bought the 24 pack of Pilsbury ready to make chocolate chips cookies. So you take 5 chunks of cookie dough and roll it into a big ball. Smush it down on a cookie sheet where it isn't so round. Cook for the regular 9 - 11 minutes. The outside is crispy like the cookie and the inside is warm, mushy cookie dough. Mix it up into a gross looking mess and eat straight from the cookie sheet. Yum! Good thing I'm pregnant and can get away with eating stuff like this since I'm not 17 anymore.
