So I've been a little out of touch these past few days. I think about writing, but never get around to it. For some reason, I've been in starting/learning new things mode this week. Its just been very busy.
Roasted Potatoes
Earlier this week, I embarked on a cooking adventure. Now for most people this would not be an adventure, but I'm not the most experienced cook and my menus contain a lot of frozen skillet meals that take about 10 minutes to cook. I am an expert and lover of macaroni and cheese though.
When I was at HEB, I decided I wanted to make new potatoes like Luby's does. They always look so good, but I have to pass them up for some veggie that the boys and I will only eat at Luby's. So I bought some small to medium red potatoes. My plan was to find out how to cook them on the internet.
I kept procrastinating. It could be time consuming to cook potatoes and my main dish was Italain breaded pork chops, also a new recipe I was trying from a Fast and Easy recipe magazine that my Aunt Gwen gives to me every year. It is a great publication and I think she is trying to nudge me along because she knows my skill level.
Anyway, I finally Googled "new potatoes recipe" and viola! Its really not that hard! All you have to do is cut them up, put them in a baking pan and put some butter on them. Well, and some other spices, but I only had one of them so they turned out okay. Greg said that he liked them a lot. Even more than my new pork chop recipe. The problem with the pork chops was that they didn't have enough of that "Shake and Bake" taste to them and he's used to that. So shake and bake and my new potato recipe it is!
People Pay me to Do This?
Another new thing this week is that I'm doing some contract work for a lady with a cool idea. My friend Jess hooked me up as she needed some help to get a project done faster. Of course, I know a little about the web and html and php, but I know absolutely nothing about Drupal which is a very funny name if you ask me. I even read why it was called that and it still doesn't make that much sense.
Anyway, I've started doing that and it takes up 10-15 hours of my naptime and weekend time so you see why I've been a little slow on writing.
Final Thought
I'm up a little late tonight as Logan is sick again. He woke up in a fever sweat even though he's on Mortin so we changed his clothes to something cooler and really made him mad. In fact, when we asked him if he wanted to cuddle with Daddy or go back to bed. He pointed to his crib. He just laid there on his new big boy pillow. Guess we are going to the doctor tomorrow.
By the way, Greg just read this last part and wanted me to add that Logan wanted him when he was upset right now. I brought him in our room and Greg took him back to ours and got him to sleep before I could get back with water. I told him he should get his own blog.
