Productivity and a Long Post

Ahhhh...its nice to have a productive week. Most weeks are considered productive around here, but I've gotten several things off of the To Do List this week AND Greg is off playing in Vegas. It would be wrong of me to leave out that my mother is here this week which automatically increases my productivity by 200%.

The Great Thing About Mom
Well, there are several things.

1) She takes the monitor at night and gets the boys up in the morning...EVERY morning she has been here. Fantastic! I get to sleep in even if I am just dozing off and on because my internal clock wakes me up between 6-6:30 every day. Maybe its just telling me to put my ear plugs in.

2) When the boys are napping, she, again, takes the monitor and I can do something productive OR take a nap. I'm about 50/50 on which option I choose this week.

3) We go shopping when Dylan is in preschool. Today we went to the mall and she pushed Logan around while I did a few errands related to my cell phone and my bed of choice (more below).

4) She sits in the car with Logan while I drop off or pick up Dylan from school or with both boys when I need to run in real quick. I admit, I have left the boys in the car to run in Merle Norman real quick before, but I still feel guilty about it. Let me add, I did leave the windows rolled down and could see them from the store which I was in for less than 5 minutes. I'm sure its still illegal...

5) She enjoys the same foods I do. Greg is a big meal eater. Likes to have a side with his meat or whatever. I like snacky meals. Probably because of Mom. Its so much fun to eat a piece of bread with cheese for dinner and then after the boys go to bed break out the chips and Borden French Onion dip - the best FO dip around!

LOVE YOU MOM!!!

What I Actually Accomplished

1) Got a cell phone up and running. Most of you did not know that I lost my cell phone about a week ago. I say lost, but I'm pretty sure it was borrowed and put in some drawer by suspect Logan Duffey. So its in the house somewhere, but even Greg has looked for it and not found it. When I lose something, which is often, Greg always finds it super fast.

So today I took Greg's old cell phone (from 2004) and got a new SIM card for free! I went to 3 different places and the one in the mall was free. Not that I asked the price. I was resigned to paying because I really need a phone as we went cheapo on the home phone plan - 25 calls out a month for like $7. Who needs a real plan at home when you have a cell?

2) Called remodelers - Yes, our house is less than 2 years old, but we've decided that the boys are not sharing a room. Logan is too young and basically, we don't want to deal with room share problems. This decision comes after 3 weeks of sickness in which someone woke up every night. Can you imagine if they shared rooms?

We are making our study into a 4th bedroom and adding a HUGE closet upstairs to store our stuff. So I called 4 companies to get quotes and have already had one guy come by today. Mom came in handy again because she played puzzles with Dylan when he came by.

3) Priced Sleep Number beds - Yes, they are so freaking comfortable. We've had our eye on one since my parents got a bed a couple of years ago. I got quotes today for a queen and king 7000 model. Part of my inspiration was Michelle's blog . She reminded me how wonderful it felt just to lay on these things in the store. I'll keep you posted on the big purchase.

Just For You to Know

My children are all well, which is fabulous!

We ate lunch at Luby's today. They love it. Dylan even ate a whole serving of green beans. What is up with that???? It was a little game to see if they could disappear before I put them on his plate again, but who would have thought that would have worked? I think we are going to eat a Luby's every Thursday.

Logan said I love you today. So cute even if it was prompted by me saying, "Say I love you."

Greg comes home tonight from Vegas. He called the second day into the trip at 6am his time to let me know all 4 guys had lost ALL their money. Did he ever ask for more money? No, but being the great wife I am, I realized he wanted an offer. Plus, it allows me more bargaining power in the future. I'm not ashamed to admit it...

Have a great weekend! I'll let you know how Dylan's 3rd b.day party at Chuck E. Cheese's on Saturday goes!
