Lovey Logan
I really think 18 months to 3 years is my favorite age. Logan came up to me two days ago, wrapped his arms around my legs in a true Logie Bear hug and said, "Mommy, I wuv you." This was all on his own and makes all the difficult times worth it.
Uh oh...Someone is Watching Me...
First off, let me say yes, I am paranoid about waking my napping kids.
Dylan is going potty a couple of days ago and doesn't flush the potty. I'm in the bathroom with him and say "Dylan, don't forget to flush."
Dylan responds "Mommy, I can't flush because it is too loud and Kaley is asleep."
I'm not officially admiting where this behavior was modeled.

The Past Weeks Theme and my Conclusion
So this week has had a weird theme.
First, I found out that my pledge educator died a couple of weeks ago in a car accident leaving her 2 month old son and husband. Kaley is about her son's age and it really hit home with me.
Second, my Mom and Dad are cleaning out their attic and she ran across all her Dad's files that had all his correspondence. There was all this stuff in there that she never realized he did for her, like borrowing money for her college education and writing the sheriff of San Marcos (whatever county that is) to get her in an air conditioned dorm as a freshman, etc. Anyway, she talked about the last time she saw him before she died. Now for some reason that got me too. Probably because of Jill's death above.
Lastly, I decided to catch up on Grey's Anatomy, which I am behind on a couple of weeks and the episode was all about death. I haven't cried that much in a long time. In fact, I think it was the best episode of the season.
So I have to admit that I have taken this to mean that I should appreciate my kids and everyone in my life while they are here. This weekend I have enjoyed my kids so much more than the previous week - what they say and do brightens my life and I can't imagine not having them around.
Being a parent is the best thing I've ever decided to do. It really gives your life a purpose and makes you appreciate the things we are given.

Dylan, 3, sick, and major attitude boy says the funniest things. I wish I had his fresh take on the world. When he said, "Love You, too." tonight it just melted me.
Logan, a cuddle bug with an infectious smile.
Kaley is an innocent, sweet reminder of what God gives us all.

High Expectations
About 5 minutes ago this happened.
Me: "I have a question for you. "
Greg: (about to go to bed and really wants to get to sleep) - Okay.
Me: "So do you think I should cut back Kaley's 5am feeding to only 2 ounces? I mean, she doesn't want to eat at her 8am feeding when she wakes up and 5am isn't acceptable to get up. Should we try putting her to bed earlier and see if she sleeps later [For those of you w/o kids, it sounds crazy, but works.]? Or should I just wait till her 4 month appointment and ask Dr. Enders about it?
Greg: Yes. Ask Dr. Enders. She IS only 3 months. Is she 3 months yet?
Me: No, on Friday.
At this point in the conversation I realize that with Kaley I don't treat her quite like a 3 month old. Maybe I need to readjust my expectations.
As Greg put it, "Most people would kill for this situation." I guess Kaley going from 8pm - 5am, eating, and then going back to sleep from 5-8 is enough to ask of my little girl who isn't even 3 months. I'm glad that Greg is my reality check.

Cute Dylan Quotes About Kaley
- Mommy can we get her to grow up faster?
- "That's my Kaley on the box." - Looking at the baby on the Pampers Swaddlers box
And an addtional non-Kaley quote -
Grandmommy: "How did you color that so pretty?"
Dylan: "That's just what crayons do, Grandmommy."

My Staycation
So Greg took the boys to Katy to visit his family this weekend and I am staying here in Cedar Park with Kaley. Its going to be a nice break! Having one kid around, much less a 2 month old is way easy. Now I know some of you out there with one kid think, one kid...easy? Oh yes, its so much simpler. When I had just Dylan, especially in the first 3 months, I wouldn't have ever thought it was easy, but one is so simple.
My favorite part is not having to decide what everyone is going to eat and then deal with the whining (80% of the time) afterwards. I have a recent 2 year old - who I hope to get a post up about this weekend - and he is in that phase of "I don't like that" that comes with a 20 minute cry/fit fest. I haven't decided what I am having for dinner, but it doesn't matter. I won't starve myself, plus I have a coupon for a free Chick-fil-a sandwhich at our new CP Chick-fil-A. Maybe when Kaley wakes up I will load her up and get take out.
Let's see what else have I done in the past 5 hours of staycation. Hmmm...Watched Grey's Anatomy, caught up on my dishes, picked up the boy's bathroom, hallways, and all 3 kid rooms. Additionally, I have joined a time sucker, as my friend Sharon put it, Facebook. Yes, I'm a late adopter, but I'm glad because it is so freakin' addicting. If you aren't on it, which I doubt anyone isn't on it, get on it so we can keep up more real time than the blog.
Anyway, back to my staycation. My goal is to have everything clutter wise picked up tonight so tomorrow I can work on pantry/closet/playroom organization. If I get time, I might wipe down the baseboards. HA! Highly unlikely though!
Well my fun time is over. I'm going to pick up my bedroom and bathroom before I wake Kaley up from her late nap for a Chick-fil-a break. I do have a feeling that I may be blog/Facebook addicted because my only social outlet this weekend is a 2 month old (whom I love lots and lots, don't get me wrong) and the computer. I want it that way, but can see myself longing for the boys by Sunday night. Ahhh...the love of a mother!

If you wake up from your nap in a bad mood, go back to bed!
Just wanted to share my motto of the day to the boys...Other than those words, I've said...
1. If you are going to whine, go to your room.
2. You aren't listening, go to time out.
Thank goodness Greg is home.
