Top Gun

Well, I just finished watching Top Gun for the who knows how many times. I was forced or was forcing Greg to switch back and forth from the Astros game. Poor guy even missed the other team take the lead in the 9th. Just a few thoughts about Top Gun that I'm sure you are dying to know.

1. Top Gun was the first moving I watched with my parents that had a "romantic" scene in it. I can still remember sitting in the living room of our house and being soooo embarrassed. I know I've said this before, but its weird how I only remember "traumatic" memories of my childhood. Now that I have kids, I wonder what they were thinking in that moment.

2. Just to prove a difference between my hubby and I...Greg switched back to the Astros game and I commented that he better not make the miss the end.
G: "The Celebration scene? 'You can be my wing man anytime.' 'No, you can be mine.'"
K: "No, he goes back to teach and she comes and finds him."
G: "What?"
K: "The jukebox scene! Hello!"

So I guess there is a difference in what we women and men take note of.

3. I just had a random memory, but a partial one. Must not have been traumatic enough. When the guy slams a file cabinet drawer in the movie I think he says "Kirby." I know he says something that was relevant to my life, but have no clue what it is...

I admit this has been a lame post after being gone for so long, but for some reason I felt inspired by the movie. Maybe it was the pre-weirdo Tom Cruise that did it. Seeing him in a towel was still nice. Greg and I were laughing though as you see his muscles flex through it. Sorry for that last random thought.
